1981 Ironhead Sportster Bobber
Lloyd from Mechanicville, New York, United States made available these pictures of this amazing Harley Sportster Bobber / Short Chop which has a 1981 Ironhead Engine in a hardtailed 1975 Sportster frame. The springer is a stock length DNA for big twins and the dump pipes are by Twisted Choppers.
While the rake of this custom bike has been increased, we feel that the difference with the stock rake is too small to classify this bike as a "Chopper". If anybody wants to call her a "Short Chop" that's fine with us, but we are not against calling her a "Bobber" either.
Lloyd: "1975 Harley custom Ironhead bobber. Numbers on frame match title. 1981 1000cc motor with Wiseco pistons .010 over 10:1 compression. New Barnett clutch, sprockets and chain. New DNA springer front end, new front wheel and brakes. New Metzeler tires. Twisted Choppers pipe. Bike is freshly painted hotrod black base coat clear coat."
That two-in-one dump pipe by Twisted Choppers is beyond cool. Can you hear that sound!
Before Modifications
Lloyd also sent us a picture of his Custom Bobber in the state it was in when he bought it off eBay a couple of years ago:
