Hardcore Oldschool Bobber by Jose
Thank God There's Harleys... So, let's show them!
Jose from Las Vegas, NV, rebuilt a 1977 Ironhead XLCH 1000 Sportster into this beautiful Hardcore Oldschool Bobber.
According to Jose, this bike was built in 2 weeks! She came in 5 boxes and the motor was in pieces. The frame is Harley Davidson without modifications except for the hardtail. Stock front end with one inch shorter springs.
Art of the Bobber?
Ladies and gentlemen, please take a good look at this bike, and discover that this lady is a true piece of art. This little Ironhead Bobber is like a Van Gogh: of humble origin, of simple design, yet every little particle is in the right spot and of the right colour.
If the Discovery Channel should ever notice that we are tired of their boring biker build-offs with those million dollar choppers that are all modelled after the same super-image, we will welcome them back on earth and invite them to have a look at the lines and colours of this bike, and what she represents.
This bike was built in a backyard. Like a Bobber should.
And she didn't cost more than a couple of thousand, yet is worth a million!
Thank you, Jose.
Bare Bones Hardcore
This Bobber has been stripped of everything that does not contribute to speed or performance - no fenders, no blinkers, no horn, no passenger seat or footpegs. The only luxury left on this bike are the gauge and the rear view mirrors (look carefully and you'll discover them...)
Oldschool
The term "Oldschool" refers to any design or creation that actually is of an earlier era or which is modelled to represent a trend, mode or fashion of an earlier era. The term can apply to just about anything, from music and clothing to industrial design. - JV
This 1977 Harley Ironhead engine has both kick start and electric start.
Here you see some details of the bolted on hardtail conversion of the 1977 HD Sportster XLCH frame. The hardtail was found on Ebay and is bolted at the top and bottom using carbon steel bolts.
