1981 Ironhead Motor in 2002 Chopper
May 2008
Tom Warnken of Williams Bay, Wisconsin, made available these pictures of a 2002 custom built rigid chopper with a 1981 1000cc Ironhead engine. At just under ELEVEN feet long and with nearly FIVE foot long forks this bike is an ULTRA chopper!
Tom says this bike was hand built in 2002 by an enthusiast who asked to remain nameless due to job restrictions. The bike first had a used 1970 Ironhead engine when built, the owner then removed the kickstart Ironhead motor for this 1981 Ironhead electric start cdi engine in 2003 (no more points to replace)
This Ironhead chopper is not finished yet. The starting system, chain, oil lines, fuel lines, and wiring still need to be hooked up.
